The Brooklyn Nets honor active and retired service members and their families during our Hoops for Troops United Game. Hoops for Troops is a year-round initiative led by the NBA, in collaboration with the Department of Defense, USO, TAPS, and other military and veteran-serving organizations From in-arena highlights to community activations, we believe in strengthening our bond with those who protect our freedom.
Community
Families from TAPS toured HSS Training Center, watched practice and met the players and coaching staff.
Halftime
Service members faced off against each other during the Hoops For Troops Combine, presented by Barclays.
Giveaways
In Section 31, active and retired service members received a Thank You card and Hoops For Troops hat.
Activations
Fans were able to compete in a military-style obstacle course for a chance to win a basketball signed by Nets player Royce O’Neale.
Gameball Delivery
The Gameball was delivered by Command Sargeant Major Christopher Hill, USAG Garrison Fort Hamilton.
Entertainment
The Brooklynettes and Team Hype performed two military inspired pieces during the game.

Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
TAPS provides comfort, care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. Since 1994, TAPS has provided comfort and hope 24/7 through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones.
U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton
Deliver and integrate base installation services to our military community and stakeholders while support Accessions and on order Defense Support to Civil Authorities in the New York City area.
United States Military Academy West Point
The U.S. Military Academy at West Point’s mission is “to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army.”

The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.
