The Brooklyn Nets celebrate Black History Month (BHM) throughout February with numerous in-game activations, community outreach efforts, elevated performances, and exciting giveaways. The Brooklyn Nets will be honoring the collection of communities that comprise the African Diaspora and Brooklyn community during our BHM United Game. .

Merchandise Collaboration

New York Natives and Vinnies Styles Founders, Jacob, Desta and Paul designed 2 pieces for Black History Month that were sold in the Nets team store at Barclays Center, Brooklyn Fanatics.

Halftime

The Brooklyn Nets Entertainment Teams, featuring BSE Global Black Alliance Network members, performed a tribute to Soul Train during halftime. Soul Train was a nationally syndicated show celebrating Black music and culture.

Entertainment & Activations

TRCY performed the National Anthem and Lift Every Voice and Sing. TRCY is a group if three sisters (Sydney, Tyler, and Shijuan) who have a heart of harmony.

Black Boy Art Show

Black Boy Art Show brought their pop-up exhibit to the Barclay’s Center, Black Boy Art Show is an exhibition tour that showcases Black male artists.

Gameball Delivery

The Game Ball was delivered by representatives of Play Pattern. Play Pattern creates programs and products for schools and educational organizations with the goal of using art and technology to bridge the opportunity gap and prepare future problem solvers.

BHM Poster Giveaway

The first 5,000 fans received a Black History Month poster designed by artist Ron Bass. A Brooklyn native, Bass uses inspiration of all things emitting “LOVE” to bring his art and perspective to life. Click the poster to learn more about Ron’s inspiration behind the poster.
